{"id":30497,"date":"2020-09-10T14:39:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T13:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morson-edge.com\/?p=30497"},"modified":"2025-10-28T14:46:42","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T14:46:42","slug":"sizewell-c-consortium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morson-edge.com\/fr_ca\/nouvelles\/sizewell-c-consortium\/","title":{"rendered":"Morson Group Joins the Sizewell C Nuclear Consortium"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Morson Group has become the latest company to join the Sizewell C Consortium.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sizewell C Consortium, a group of more than 100 leading companies and organisations who have come together in support of getting Sizewell C, the proposed nuclear site, built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morson has an unrivalled track record in nuclear recruitment for the provision of both temporary and permanent personnel across the civil and military applications and working on some of the largest nuclear projects in the UK. We have managed projects and supplied labour across the project lifespan &#8211; from initial design and safety studies through detailed design programmes to final plant commissioning, inspection and handover. Morson Edge is joined in the consortium by Morson Vital, also part of the Morson Group. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-secondary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5f156c13b1b8d17f94876cc8cec556e0\" id=\"the-story-is-in-the-data\"><strong>Building a clean energy future<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes into service in 2031, Sizewell C is expected to meet 7% of the UK\u2019s low carbon energy demand for the next 60 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-white-color has-secondary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-bbb82005c651156178a5761c7ec714ec\"><strong>The project will create 25,000 nuclear jobs and up to 1,000 apprenticeships, with \u00a314billion (70%) of the construction costs directly benefitting British businesses.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The importance of the construction of Sizewell C, a replica of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.morson.com\/hinkley-point-c\/hinkley-point-c-skills-survey\">currently-under construction Hinkley Point C<\/a>&nbsp;grew recently with the news that Hitachi has withdrawn from the proposed Wylfa nuclear projects on Anglesey. This project would have been another important milestone in the UK\u2019s nuclear supply chain and would have created thousands of jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June 2020, EDF Energy, one of the two companies in the construction consortium, officially announced that it had applied to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), who are responsible for the safe operation of nuclear sites across the UK, for the licence required to build and operate Sizewell C. This is another key milestone in the process to get the site built by 2031 and on the road to creating thousands of nuclear jobs for the UK economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cameron Gilmour, Spokesperson for the Sizewell C Consortium said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"blockquote\">\n<p>\u201cBritain has built a world beating nuclear industry supply chain which supports thousands of highly skilled jobs across the UK. The Sizewell C supply chain is ready and willing to help government with the green economic recovery.
